Expert's opinions
Dark, intense and evolved colour. Very aromatic nose, with ripe and truffle-like fruit. Particularly fruity palate, with a noble texture, flavourful, rich on the mid-palate and a complex, truffle-laden finish with a caressing tactile feel. Bravo. A great success. For the record, 1985 is a great Merlot vintage.

Drinking beautifully now with loads of new wood but delicious and round with plummy, tobacco, chocolate character.

(8-1993)
The 1985 Haut-Marbuzet has the flesh pot personality that makes this wine so sexy and appealing. A big, toasty, jammy, berry-scented bouquet offers generous amounts of fruit and oak. Supple, spicy, rich, medium-bodied, and fully mature, it is a delight to drink.

Château informations
Château Haut-Marbuzet is a 61-hectare wine estate owned by the Duboscq family, located in Saint-Estèphe. It is a Médoc AOC and is classified as an exceptional Cru Bourgeois. The work of the Duboscq family has made Château Haut-Marbuzet a wine of the highest quality among Saint-Estèphe wines. Château Haut Marbuzet is also full of charm in its youth, developing wonderful spicy notes and red fruit aromas. Considered by some as the most Burgundian of Bordeaux wines, Château Haut Marbuzet was designated as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel during the revision of the Crus Bourgeois classification in June 2003.
