Expert's opinions

Information on the vintage 1990 red Bordeaux : An excellent vintage with similar attributes to the 1989. In general, the Merlots were in remarkable condition with some of the highest levels of sugar ever recorded. The later ripening Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were small and thick, with a concentration of juice and colouring matter.

Tobacco, smoke, earth, forest floor, cassis, wood and red plums, medium/full bodied with plush, soft textures. The wine offers more on the nose than the palte. After giving pleasure since the day it was bottled, this St. Estephe wine has started to gently decline. My last bottle of a case purchase. Drink up as it's going to continue losing fruit.

Dark and evolved color. Fruity nose curiously very fresh for the vintage. Tasty mouth, tender, pleasant, but the body is lacking.

Surprisingly mature. Medium-garnet color. Aromas of leather, berries and raisins. Medium-bodied, soft, with a clean finish.

Château Haut Marbuzet

Château Haut-Marbuzet is a 61-hectare wine estate owned by the Duboscq family, located in Saint-Estèphe. It is a Médoc AOC and is classified as an exceptional Cru Bourgeois. The work of the Duboscq family has made Château Haut-Marbuzet a wine of the highest quality among Saint-Estèphe wines. Château Haut Marbuzet is also full of charm in its youth, developing wonderful spicy notes and red fruit aromas. Considered by some as the most Burgundian of Bordeaux wines, Château Haut Marbuzet was designated as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel during the revision of the Crus Bourgeois classification in June 2003.
