Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 2000 Haut Batailley, served by Xavier Borie at Grand-Puy-Lacoste, showed a slight herbaceous note on the nose, accompanied by cedar and graphite aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with still quite tough tannins, foursquare in style and perhaps just missing a little persistence on the finish. As a big fan of this property, perhaps I was a little underwhelmed by this example and it was shown up by the superior 1995.

Attractive chocolate, berry and currant aromas follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with medium fine tannins and a pretty berry, chocolate aftertaste. Seriously good value. Best wine from this estate in decades.

Falstaff November - 2010

Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections. Fine plum fruit, delicately ethereal, a hint of mint and cassis, some dried fruit. Good complexity, present tannins, fresh cherries, fine chocolate note, adheres well, balanced food companion, already quite drinkable.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
With soft, round textures and no hard edges, this charming, medium/bodied Bordeaux wine offers tobacco, red and black fruit, forest floor and earthy notes. This is close to fully mature and displays good Pauillac character in the spice and cassis and plum filled finish. I'd drink this fairly priced wine over the next decade.

Well-colored, brilliant wine. Nose: Note of tobacco and ripe fruits. Palate: Easy and tender, it evolves on the fruit with flesh but without being very wide in the mouth. Beautiful tannic length.

La Revue du Vin de France January - 2006
La Revue du Vin de France
RVF Magazine Harmonious on the attack, it displays a medium-bodied palate, showing a complex evolution. While the finish still possesses the austerity of Cabernets, this wine offers style and length. One can begin to drink it, but five years of aging will suit it perfectly.

The estate was purchased by the Borie family, who also own Châteaux Grand-Puy-Lacoste and Ducru-Beaucaillou. Currently managed by François-Xavier Borie, the wine is aged for 16 to 20 months in oak barrels, partially new (30 to 40% depending on the year). The second wine is called Château La Tour L'Aspic.
