Expert's opinions
Green Guide 2017 True to the style of the cru, the 2013 is precise, with a straight palate featuring fine and refined tannins. A gourmet and flavorful ensemble that is already appealing.

Gently roasted aromas with mild spices, red and dark berries, tobacc. The palate has medium weight but rather dense texture, good length, elegant fruit, should develop well.

With crunchy cassis, thyme, spice and coffee bean scents, the wine is crisp, bright and spicy, finishing with a light red berry note.

Fruity palate, with flavor, evolving very pleasantly, but light. To be drunk young.

Tasted blind. Mid garnet. Pretty leafy on the nose. And a bit stalky on the palate. Lightish overall so that the alcohol shows. Slightly tart on the finish.

Château informations
Château Haut-Batailley is a 22-hectare Bordeaux wine estate located in Pauillac, Gironde. It produces Fifth Classified Growths according to the 1855 Médoc classification.
The estate was purchased by the Borie family, who also own Châteaux Grand-Puy-Lacoste and Ducru-Beaucaillou. Currently managed by François-Xavier Borie, the wine is aged for 16 to 20 months in oak barrels, partially new (30 to 40% depending on the year). The second wine is called Château La Tour L'Aspic.
