Jancis Robinson November - 2018

A little smoky and rich in dark fruit. A touch of savoury char and sweet spice but I sense it is fruit spice not oak. Deep, cool and elegant, firm yet paper-fine texture, compact and so well defined and harmonious already. Salty finish. Chalky finish that speaks of the limestone too. Complex, elegant beauty

Though somewhat brooding, this smoky, licorice-tinged red features black cherry, plum, iron and spice flavors. Solidly built and expanding on the long, spicy aftertaste. Impeccably balanced, but needs to stretch out a little

Guide vert 2020 Spiced and structured substance in this dense and juicy wine with abundant tannins. Powerful and very intense, with its flavours of bark and its frank, vigorous finish, this is a thoroughbred and majestic wine.

Domaine Georges Roumier
Domaine Georges Roumier

Domaine Roumier is an estate that produces Burgundy wines. Founded in 1924 by Georges Roumier, then taken over in the early 1980s by Christophe Roumier who had joined his father Jean-Marie Roumier. Located in the commune of Chambolle-Musigny, the estate spans nearly 12 hectares of vineyards.

The harvest is traditionally carried out by hand and the grape varieties produced are Pinot Noir for red wines and Chardonnay for white wines. Domaine Roumier is not certified organic and does not seek the label, however, it does not use any chemical products in its vineyards.

The limestone and clay-limestone soils favor and characterize the domain's terroir. Domaine Roumier produces five Burgundy Grand Crus: Bonnes-Mares, Musigny, Charmes-Chambertin, Ruchottes-Chambertin, and Corton-Charlemagne in white wine.

The star wine of Domaine Roumier is the Musigny Grand Cru. A wine with growing notoriety from the Côte de Nuits.
