Expert's opinions
Dark red. Good intensity. Evolved. Clean. Intense. Strawberry jam. Similar. The simplest of the three (compared to Brane Cantenac and Marquis de Terme). The entry on the palate is the firmest here. This wine has Cabernet Franc or Cabernet Sauvignon. Ripe, juicy but smoky, especially on the finish, it lacks subtlety in the grain of the tannin, even if all this is well made.

A lovely young Margaux red with potential to age. The flavours are quite closed at the moment but the structure and length suggest the wine should open up with time.

Fully mature, with a tertiary nose of cherry pipe tobacco, wet earth, cedar wood, cherries and cigar box aromatics. Soft, polished, medium bodied and elegant, the wine is easy to drink and like.

Lots of ripe fruit in this wine. Dark ruby color. Pretty aromas of plums, spices and cherries. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a chocolate, barley and earth aftertaste.

By far the best fully mature Prieure-Lichine over the last 20 years, the dark garnet-colored 1990 has a very fragrant nose of spice box, Christmas fruitcake, cedar, tobacco, smoke, and jammy red as well as black currants flavors. The wine is medium-bodied, quite ripe, with low acidity, a lush expansiveness, and fine purity in its lusty, heady finish.
