Dark core. Lovely fragrance and elegance on the nose but a bit sweet and chocolately on the palate, Almost too soft and needing a bit more freshness for harmony.

Deep color. Elegant and fruity nose, notes of fresh cherry and a slight candied touch. A very pleasant wine, expressive on the palate, long, fruity and spicy with beautiful persistence. A high-end wine, even in this vintage.

Jane Anson - Inside Bordeaux
Showing more tertiary aromatics than the 2006, with soft tobacco, cured leather. A vintage which has come around to its drinking window quicker than some but is still on the plateau of delivering pleasure. Lighter in structure than the 2006 or 2008 on either side of it, but it is totally charming, and the softly-spoken fine tannins are a delight. Saline, mouth watering finish, really excellent quality and ready to go. Plenty of Comtesse character also.

RVF Magazine It is evolving remarkably. Very beautiful brilliance, the wine is luminous, with notes of black fruits still very much present and an imposing yet well-integrated structure. A success for the vintage.

Soft wine, the Merlot in the blend giving a round character to the texture. It is juicy, fruity, a gentle, mellow wine that seduces by its delicious ripe berry fruits. Its aging potential is there in the band of Cabernet tannins, but it's not a long-term wine.

Dark ruby garnet, youthful reflections, violet rim. On the nose, sweet, inviting berry fruit, dark spicy hints, black fruits, some honey and nougat. On the palate elegant and juicy, a refined and nuanced structure, red berry fruit, hints of orange, very fresh, perfectly integrated tannins, very good aging potential, with considerable charm.

Leafy, herbal, cedar and tobacco leaf are more prevalent than the fruits here. Medium bodied, soft, fully mature, this requires consumption sooner than later. The wine was made from a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc.

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse De Lalande

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, located in Pauillac in the heart of Médoc, is one of the most emblematic Second Grand Cru Classé of the 1855 classification. Founded in the 17th century and lastingly marked by the figure of Virginie de Pichon Longueville, Comtesse de Lalande, the estate stands today as an essential reference among the great wines of Bordeaux.

Located on deep gravel ridges resting on a clay-marl base, in close proximity to the Gironde estuary, the vineyard benefits from an exceptional terroir and a microclimate particularly favorable to the maturity of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine combines power, precision and elegance, in a style recognized for its finesse and aging capacity.

Property of the Rouzaud family since 2007, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande continues a demanding quality policy, committed to an environmental approach certified HVE and in conversion to organic farming since 2021. Parcel-based vinifications and the use of a gravity-flow vat room allow to preserve the pure expression of the Pauillac terroir.
