Falstaff April - 2010
Falstaff
Delicate notes of plum jam, ripe fruit, nougat, with hints of figs. Substantial, elegant, fine chocolatey texture, present tannins, good persistence, nougat on the finish, good length, great future.

Tasted blind. Dark blackish crimson. On the cusp of oxidised. Just too ripe for comfort though the sweetness would be comforting for those who had no experience of beautifully balanced, complex Pomerol. Tarry, hot finish.

We didn't quite trust our palate and rated cautiously. But after tasting the 2010 and checking the 2009 in the bottle, we are certain: this estate is on its way to the top! With breathtaking aromatic complexity, excellent tannins, incredible harmony, utmost finesse and complexity, the alcohol noticeable but perfectly integrated: confirms our expectations - clearly on the way up and 18 points within reach!

Wine Spectator March - 2012

This darker, toastier style delivers plush cocoa and plum sauce aromas and flavors to lead the way, liberally laced with notes of pain d'épices, fig and blackberry confiture. Fleshy edges build through the finish, with impressive grip. A property steadily on the rise. Best from 2014 through 2027.

Very juicy, smoky, smooth and velvety. It has great acidity as well as sweet fruit. An opulent, open wine, yet with a great final structure; big and sweet.

Intense hue with purple reflections. Nose of ripe black fruits enriched with oak notes infused with spices. Dense and well-structured palate, nicely framed by richness. A well-structured wine.

Tom Cannavan January - 2014

Very hot vintage, plenty of fruitcakey ripeness and richness, sold plum fruit with layers of spice and cedar, but does seem quite rich and a tiny bit raisiny. It has the full, seductive ripeness on the palate, with a noticeable alcohol at 14.5%, very sweet and concentrated. Powerful tannins and good balance, with loads of blue/black fruit. A big wine, liquoricy, spicy, and that gives an edge of freshness.
