Jancis Robinson March - 2024
Jancis Robinson
A plenitude of ripe damsons, lifted just a little by the golden fragrance of cooked quince. Plush, open-weave, dripping with dark juice and liquid, ink-bled minerality, spiked with coarse-grind black pepper. This embodies the place, Terrasses du Larzac. It tastes of hot stones, cold hard winds, garrigue, dust. Tannins smooth and curvy, but dusty, like contour tracks snaking up mountainside. It tastes of fruit deepened under wide, blue, warm skies. Just so a wine of place! Transmitting the terroir with much more elegance than it has in the past.

Gault & Millau March - 2024
Gault & Millau
The nose is a little closed and will need some aeration to then reveal floral, toasted and roasted aromas. The wine is still in its youth with a lovely vibrancy and woody aromas on the palate, but the aromatic persistence is long. A well-composed wine, like a beautiful piece of classical music that unfolds little by little. A great aging potential.

James Suckling October - 2024
James Suckling
A balanced, flavorful and driven blend of syrah, mourvedre, carignan and grenache. It has notes of purple berries, wild herbs and baking spices on the nose. Medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Lively and agile, with plenty of energy and a textural, focused finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Green Guide 2024 Dark, restrained, smoky nose of aromatic herbs and garrigue for this Combariolles 2021. The palate is still a little compact but the tension and length are there. It opens up with aeration and patient drinkers will be rewarded.

Mas Cal Demoura
Mas Cal Demoura

Mas Cal Demoura is one of the benchmark estates of the AOP Terrasses du Larzac, the flagship appellation of the Languedoc located some thirty kilometres north-west of Montpellier. The estate was founded in the early 1990s by Jean-Pierre Jullien, father of Olivier Jullien, founder of the neighbouring Mas Jullien, on this high-altitude terroir that he knows intimately.

In 2003, Isabelle and Vincent Goumard, two former executives who reinvented themselves out of a passion for wine, took over the property. Over twenty years, their methodical work and commitment to biodynamic viticulture (Biodyvin certification since 2015) have elevated Mas Cal Demoura to the rank of the great estates of the Languedoc. Sixteen hectares, twelve grape varieties, naturally low yields between 15 and 25 hectolitres per hectare: everything is designed to bring out the best from each plot.

The wines of Mas Cal Demoura are recognisable by their style: fruity, fresh, and elegant, with tannins of a finesse rare for a southern vineyard. A signature built vintage after vintage, which today makes the estate an essential reference for any lover of Languedoc wines. The 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 vintages rank among the finest expressions of the estate.
