Intense robe with violet-bluish nuances. Nose of ripe fruits with a toasted note concealing slightly vegetal tannins. Concentrated padding with evident, coarse and virile tannins. Warm, stocky entry, massive finish. Difficult to predict the development here.

Tasted blind. Deep garnet with opaque core. Rich and full of black fruit as well as mocha. Supple, with the flavour and texture of very dark chocolate. Quite mature in flavour but with a way to go in structure and a surprising lightness and elegance on the finish.

Deliberately typical of Saint Estèphe, Lafon-Rochet wines are as opulent as they are harmonious and can be enjoyed earlier than their neighbors. The estate also produces a second wine called Les Pèlerins de Lafon-Rochet.
