Jean-Marc Quarin March - 2023
Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark colour, of medium intensity and slightly evolved. Intense nose, with ripe and subtle fruitiness. Delicate on the palate, aromatic, fragrant and sappy. It offers nuances of pine wood evoking Pessac Léognan. A melting, subtle, airy body with very well-coated tannins. A great success of the vintage, already noted and here reconfirmed! Delighted to have some in the cellar.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Blending 69% Cabernet Sauvignon with 31% Merlot produced a wine that reached 12.9% alcohol. The wine was aged in 50% new, French oak, which is now completely integrated into the wine. Wet earth, tobacco, forest floor and blackberry fruits play well with the soft, plush, ripe, red and black cherries, ripe tannins and sweet plums. Supple and round, this is drinking perfectly now, yet it can age for at least another decade.

Strawberry and raspberry jam aromas follow through to a full-bodied palate, with velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. Balanced and refined.

Youthful-looking crimson – still quite purple! Just a mildly cooked note. A bit brutal but at least there are some decent ingredients in here. Still pretty brutal but nothing spoilt.

Château D'Issan
Château D'Issan
Château d'Issan, Margaux, 3rd Classified Growth classified as 3rd Growth in 1855. Château d'Issan is a magnificent property located on the banks of the Gironde, it is said that the wine of Issan was served at the wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry Plantagenet in 1152. The grape variety composition of Château d'Issan is classic, with about three-quarters Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a naturally fine Margaux, which can be rich and round when the vintage allows. In recent years, the vintages vinified by Emmanuel Cruse have proven to be even denser and more complex.
