A serious wine. A touch of malt or caramel on the nose which then opened up spicily. A fairly sweet, fleshy, chunky mouthful, excellent with venison.

This is a beautiful bottle to enjoy now - not one to keep longer, even in a magnum. The flavours are subtle and layered with notes of sweet cedarbox, dried red berries, leather and sweet spices. The nose and mid palate are attractive but the finish is shorter than what the wine initially offers.

Château la Fleur Petrus
Château la Fleur Petrus
Neighbor of Petrus, Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a remarkable Pomerol, fine and round, one of the greatest Pomerols, absolutely essential and still accessible, if one can say so. The terroir of Château La Fleur-Pétrus fully plays its role, with a soil of deep gravel that imparts natural elegance and finesse to the wine. The Cabernet Franc, used in larger quantities, gives a superb result, with wines that should be waited for almost ten years!
