Wine Spectator March - 2017
Wine Spectator
An intense, honeyed style, with lots of mango, glazed peach, tarte Tatin and maple notes flowing together, backed by toasted coconut and warm almond details through the finish. This is deep and ridiculously rich, yet strides through authoritatively. A magnificent wine. Best from 2025 through 2050

With a slightly spicy nose and a hint of gunflint, this splendid wine combines power and refinement, length and intensity, offers extension and a sublime balance between the liqueur and the strength of the terroir

In no way inferior to the Crus Classés, powerful, balanced, fruity, oily, dense with structure and wonderful freshness. When to drink: 2020 to 2028

Jancis Robinson January - 2017

Tasted blind. Unusual and spicy on the nose. Almost an aroma of biscuits with lemon oil. Big and rich and intensely sweet but fresh too. Still very primary and a lot more complexity to come. When to drink:  2023  to  2038

Falstaff April - 2014
Falstaff
Strong yellow. Ripe yellow stone fruit notes underlaid with delicate honey, very multi-faceted, attractive, young bouquet. Juicy, fine spice hints, powerful, finesse-rich acidity structure, mineral and persistent, very good length, has the makings of a classic.

Racy, with its acidity, the sweet, luscious tropical fruits, candied citrus and apricots coated in honey are made even better with the notes of honeysuckle and vanilla.

Château de Fargues
Château de Fargues has belonged to the same family for over half a millennium! It was in 1472 that this estate entered the Lur Saluces family heritage. Château de Fargues, like the great Sauternes, can be aged for several decades. Lovers of candied notes will need to wait a good twenty years before taking the wines out of their cellar. Raised by the Lur Saluces family, like Château d'Yquem, this Sauternes reflects the rigor, passion, and talent of great winemakers. The vines spread over about fifteen hectares of gravelly ridges on a clay-gravel subsoil. Grape varieties: 80% Sémillon, 20% Sauvignon. Best years: 1945, 1947, 1949, 1955, 1959, 1962, 1967, 1971, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1995, 1996.
