Falstaff November - 2010
Falstaff
Strong ruby garnet, delicate rim lightening. Roasted aromas, a touch of caramel, modern nose, dark berry fruit, spice notes. Juicy, extract-sweet body, firm tannins, still needs some time, has length, good development potential.

La Revue du Vin de France
RVF Magazine The nose and palate are very "cabernet", with a slight vegetal touch bringing freshness. Menthol notes on the attack and finish for this balanced and flowing wine, in a very classic style.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
An outstanding Duhart, certainly one of the best produced at this estate since the 1996, 1986, and 1982, this blend of 80.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19.5% Merlot reveals a deep ruby/purple color as well as notes of lead pencil intermixed with wet stones, black currants, and a certain leafiness. Medium to full-bodied, ripe, and dense, but tightly-knit, with considerable tannin, it will require patience. For those willing to wait, it will be a sleeper of the vintage.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Medium-bodied, mature, tobacco, cassis, cranberry, herb and cedar filled wine that is correctly made, enjoyable, but uninspiring.

Wine Enthusiast January - 2003
Wine Enthusiast
The younger brother of Lafite, Duhart-Milon exhibits deliciously pure fruit. The wine is deceptively soft, because under the black jelly fruits, there are also dusty, dry, firm tannins. At the end, though, it is the vibrant fruit which lingers.

Jean-Marc Quarin March - 2003
Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark red color. Good intensity. Nose of medium intensity. Smoky and finely roasted. One of the best sensations ever experienced here, even if behind it there remain rather wild aromas (sweat). Richness, sweetness, normal density and above all a beautiful tannic balance, particularly on the finish, will allow this wine to age with suavity. Wait at least four to five years.

The grand vin of Château Duhart-Milon is often described as a refined classic model of the Pauillac appellation, presenting a "reserved distinction with finesse". The assessment by broker Abraham Lawton, as early as 1815, "...it presents itself with much firmness, good color and pronounced sap", is an illustration of the enduring character of Château Duhart-Milon (the "sap" of the Médoc first growths is beautifully defined as "something of the odor that the best sealing wax gives off when burning").
