Expert's opinions
This is very suave, with mocha and smoldering tobacco flavors laced with fig, plum and blackberry notes. A flash of sweet tapenade and iron helps extend the finish, which has lovely latent minerality. This shows great restraint, considering its power of fruit. Best from 2015 through 2027

Deep in color, the perfume is filled with licorice, coffee, blackberry, blueberries and smoke. Round and supple in texture, the wine finishes with sweet, jammy black cherries.

Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate brightening at the rim. Fine red berry fruit nuances, delicately floral underlaid, attractive bouquet. Juicy, freshly structured, elegant, pleasant forest berry compote, adheres well, good aging potential, already enjoyable to drink.

Tasted blind. Glowing mature dark ruby. Light, very evolved nose. Some rose aromas and a bit of tar on the end – but not Barolo! Juicy fruit, then a dry finish. Refreshing. Distinctive and interesting but not that concentrated. When to drink: 2018 to 2030

Château informations
The vineyard of Clos de l'Oratoire is located on the northeastern slope of Saint-Emilion.
The terroir of Clos de l'Oratoire, made of Fronsac molasse, covering 10.32 hectares, consists of a sandy substratum and clay subsoil. The terroir of Clos de l'Oratoire is particularly suitable for Merlot (90%), Cabernet Franc (5%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) grape varieties. Merlot gives the wine roundness and opulence. Cabernet Franc provides power, aromatic complexity, and a beautiful length on the palate.
