Jean-Marc Quarin September - 1994
Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark red color. Medium intensity. Slight evolution. Moderately intense nose. Notes of dead leaves. Slightly herbal tea-like. With agitation, a more animal nuance. Soft attack. Round structure, medium body, which evolves lacking a bit of substance in the mid-palate towards a finish where a slight acidity emerges. Simple.

Château Beauregard
Château Beauregard has a complex terroir of gravel mixed with clay and sand; a classic grape variety that combines predominantly Merlot (65%) with Cabernets for tannin contribution and finesse (30% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon); Château Beauregard has undergone extensive renovation of the vineyard and cellars undertaken since 1991 by the new owner (Crédit Foncier de France) which should gradually elevate this fine Pomerol with great potential to the very top rank of the appellation. The choice of delayed harvesting, extended maceration (3 to 5 weeks), and the creation of a second wine already allow us to taste the fruits of renewal: a very dark, almost black color, a bouquet marked by black fruits and quality wood, and a melting flavor with tannins that promise good aging potential
