Grand-Échezeaux is one of the most prestigious grands crus de Bourgogne, holding the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) designation since 1937. Located between Vosne-Romanée and the Clos de Vougeot, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, this exceptional vineyard covers just over 9 hectares. Planted exclusively with Pinot Noir, it gives rise to Burgundy red wines renowned for their depth, structure and remarkable finesse. The clay-limestone soils lend the wines a dense texture, tight tannins and great aromatic complexity, blending black fruits, spices and forest floor notes with age. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, which owns the majority of the vineyard, stands alongside other references such as Joseph Drouhin and Gros Frère & Sœur. Endowed with excellent ageing potential, the wines of Grand-Échezeaux Grand Cru can develop harmoniously for 15 to 25 years, or even longer in the greatest vintages.
