Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is a Bordeaux wine estate located in Léognan, Gironde. The estate boasts an exceptional terroir, with soils highly characteristic of the Graves region of Bordeaux: heavily gravelly with a sandy or clay matrix. These soils are dissected into remarkably exposed and perfectly drained ridges. With over 75 hectares in the Pessac-Leognan AOC, the grape varieties harvested are Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (45%), and Cabernet Franc (5%) for red wines. The white wines are produced with 80% Sauvignon and 20% Sémillon. The grand red wine 'Château Larrivet Haut-Brion' also has a white counterpart. The Château produces a second wine 'Les Demoiselles de Larrivet Haut Brion', as well as a third wine named 'Les Hauts de Larrivet Haut Brion' (all available in white versions).

The red wines, while refined, are rather tannic but also very supple. Always well-balanced, they become sumptuous after a few years of aging in the cellar. The best vintages of Château Larrivet Haut-Brion (grand vin) are 1989 and 1990. We also recommend the Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2002.

The grand vin of Château Larrivet Haut-Brion has a beautiful deep garnet red color. The nose, complex and charming, exhales roasted and toasted notes, combined with aromas of dark fruits with a touch of vanilla. On the palate, the attack is smooth and dense, with a powerful and harmonious development. The tasting ends with a long and harmonious finish with remarkably well-integrated tannins.
