Château Smith Haut-Lafitte is a 68-hectare wine estate located in Martillac, Gironde. Located in the Pessac-Léognan AOC, it is classified as a grand cru in the Graves wines classification. The terroir consists of Günzian gravel, with vines averaging 30 years of age, comprising for red wines 34% Merlot, 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, and for white wines 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris, 5% Sémillon. The vineyard area covers 87 hectares in one continuous plot. Without a doubt, the exemplary elegance of Smith Haut Lafitte's red wines and the sophisticated bouquet of its world-renowned white wine deserve this daily care.
The best vintages are 1945, 1975, 1982 and 1989. We recommend the Château Smith Haut Lafite 1998 and the Smith Haut Lafite 2003.
