Château Grand-Puy Lacoste is a Bordeaux wine estate located on the left bank of the Gironde. Classified as a Fifth Growth in the 1855 Médoc classification, the Château has no less than 58 hectares of vines. The vineyard benefits from sustainable farming practices. The red wines are produced from a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. The château also produces a second wine called 'Lacoste-Borie'. It is made from younger vines and from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc with a higher percentage of Merlot. The grand vin: Château Grand Puy Lacoste is intense and fruity with a lot of character. It is a high-quality wine with great aging potential (8 to 20 years in the cellar and more).
The outstanding vintages are undoubtedly the 1947 vintage, the Château Grand-Puy Lacoste 1949, the 1959 and 1970 vintages, and Grand-Puy Lacoste 1982. Finally, Grand-Puy Lacoste 1986, Grand-Puy Lacoste 1990, and the 1994 and 2009 vintages are excellent.

At the end of the 1970s, this Pauillac grand cru was taken over by Jean-Eugène Borie, the owner of Ducru-Beaucaillou, who handed the reins to his son François-Xavier. Since then, the estate has continuously gained in finesse and could easily be considered a fourth growth or even a third growth.
