Our opinion on the 1919 vintage: a respectable vintage. The 1919 vintage marks the beginning of peacetime and benefits from an exceptionally favorable start to the season. In Bordeaux, the 1919 vintage is of good quality and the wines are flavorful, despite weather difficulties. Indeed, the humidity at the end of summer favored the spread of vine diseases, while excessive heat in August burned the vines. For Sauternes, it's also a success, the 1919 vintage offers fine, sweet, very liquorous and sappy wines.
