On the nose, I smelled lychees, strawberry, forest floor and dirt. I tasted strawberry, licorice, tart berries, and an iron/forest after taste. If this wine was served blind, I would almost guess that it was a young Burgundy pinot. The wine is addicting to keep sipping to see what taste profiles may emerge as you drink. The wine is young, and I won't touch my other bottle for a few more years to see how the fruit mellows.
